• Personal Information: Numberplate (Vehicle Registration) - The App stores your vehicle's numberplate to remind you of important dates like your MOT expiry and vehicle tax due dates. This is encrypted for your security.
• Device Information: Non-personal info such as device type, OS version, and app usage statistics.
• Notifications & Permissions: Required to send reminders. Can be disabled in settings.
• Internet Access: Needed to retrieve updates and connect to Google AdMob for ads.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Vehicle Reminders: Remind you about MOT and tax deadlines. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in providing the core functionality of the App.
• Advertising: Personalized ads via Google AdMob without personally identifying you.
• App Functionality: Core app features, including notifications and internet access.
• Data Processing: Queries to the DVLA API are proxied through Google Firebase, which acts as a data processor on our behalf.

3. Data Storage and Security

• Encryption: All sensitive data, including your vehicle's numberplate, is encrypted.
• No Account Required: No personal login information is stored or required.
• Data Retention: Vehicle numberplate data is kept only as long as needed for reminders. Users are responsible for updating their vehicle data after MOT or tax renewal.

4. Third-Party Services

• Google Firebase: Proxies queries to the DVLA API and acts as a data processor on our behalf. See Firebase Privacy Policy.
• Google AdMob: Displays ads and may collect device identifiers and usage stats. Google Privacy Policy.
• Notifications: Handled through Apple (iOS) push notifications.

5. Your Rights (UK GDPR)

• Access & Update: View or delete your vehicle numberplate directly in the app settings.
• Data Portability: Since vehicle numberplate data is stored only on your device and not on our servers, we do not hold copies of this data. You can manage it locally using the app.
• Withdraw Consent: For processing beyond app functionality, such as advertising, you can disable it in settings.
• Complaints: You may lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell or share personal info with third parties, except as described above. Your vehicle numberplate is never shared with other users or third parties.

7. International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred outside the EEA when using services like Google AdMob or Firebase. These services comply with relevant privacy laws.

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in practices, services, or regulations. Updates will be posted here with a new effective date.
